research programme

Selection Process

The DTC's capability challenges focus on areas where autonomous or semi-autonomous systems may add significant value to UK military capability, and will be developed during the life of the DTC through Operational Analysis studies, drawing on input from UK future defence strategy, operational concepts and doctrine development.

For future years, a key strategy of the DTC is to drive its research programme via a traceable process linked back to these capability challenges. The capability challenges will be flowed out to the research theme leaders to allow them to establish the strategy for their particular theme.

The flow of events in assessing and defining the future research programme for the DTC is shown by clicking below.
