frequently asked questions

Q8: Are there page or word limits on DTC proposals ?

A8: There is no specific page count or word limit for proposals (either for main DTC projects or Innovation Fund proposals). We have deliberately kept the submission form fairly simple to avoid people having to spend large amounts of time on it at the early proposal stage. What we are looking for is a concise description that will allow us to gain a good understanding of what research is being proposed and its expected outcomes. More is not necessarily better - we would prefer a page of clear explanation to several pages of ‘padding’. Two pages is probably typical.

We use the proposal form as a first pass selection mechanism and then usually ask the submitters of those proposals in which we have a strong interest to follow up with further detail using the statement of work form.
