frequently asked questions

Q5: Does the DTC have a standard costing model for the research programme ? Are there defined eligible and ineligible costs that can be claimed ?

A5: The DTC does not have hard and fast rules in relation to project costing. Decisions on what to include in quoted costs are entirely at the discretion of the research proposer. However, two basic checks are required before acceptance of a project for DTC funding.

The first is an acceptance by MoD that the rates being charged by the research provider are reasonable and the second is a check that the project is affordable within the DTC's overall financial constraints (we have a fixed annual budget of £5M of MoD funding).
